U.S. Attorney General William Barr shared his “deepest sympathy” on behalf of the Department of Justice (DOJ) over the passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Friday.
Ginsburg, 87, died of complications from metastatic cancer of the pancreas.
The attorney general extolled Ginsburg for “inspiring women in the legal profession and beyond.”
She was a brilliant and successful litigator, an admired court of appeals judge, and a profoundly influential Supreme Court Justice,” he also said.
Ginsburg, the oldest sitting member on the Supreme Court, died at age 87.
